New Musical Director appointed

In September 2024 Chameleon Choir was thrilled to appoint Nicola Hunt as its new Musical Director. The previous director, Linda Perry-Smith, had decided to take a break from her role, and the choir greatly appreciates her leadership during the previous three years.

Mezzo-Soprano Nicola Hunt was born in Liverpool, and began her musical journey at the Junior RAM and Chetham’s School of Music, continuing her studies at the RNCM, supported by the Peter Moores Foundation and the Wall Trust. After graduation, Nicola toured internationally with Diva Opera, and has enjoyed performing as a soloist with the UK’s finest choirs and orchestras in venues such as The Sage, the Wigmore Hall, and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, as well as performing locally at Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, and Kedleston Hall. Nicola is in demand as a singer, choral conductor, and adjudicator. She delivers vocal coaching and workshops throughout the community, from national organisations and high-level choral societies, through to grass-roots community choirs and EYFS music. Nicola is privileged to be MD of several adult and children’s choirs throughout the East Midlands.
